The Orpheus Centre

Residential accommodation extension and refurbishment works.

Caldera completed the extension and refurbishment of residential accommodation at The Orpheus Centre in Godstone, Surrey.

The Orpheus Centre is an independent college providing facilities for young disabled adults.

After a competitive tender process, Caldera was awarded this scheme to construct three extensions to the existing facilities.

The new purpose built extension provides additional residential accommodation at the centre.

Each extension consisted of piled foundations and traditional cavity masonry construction, with sun tunnels to bring more natural day light into the existing bedrooms.

The extensions feature DDA compliant kitchens and bathrooms, access controls and level access.

To create a consistent finish, we completed refurbishment works to the existing areas.

As always Caldera took a careful and unobtrusive approach, so the centre could remain fully occupied throughout the works.

Timing was crucial for this client. We met our deadline in just 16 weeks.
